Bourbon Maple'd Rosemary Cocktail
I’m so excited to have Beth Nydick of Blue Barn Kitchen back in the Cucina for this one! I just LOVE her book, Clean Cocktails! You’re probably raising an eyebrow right now thinking, Cara, cocktails are NOT healthy. And like anything in life, in excess they’re not. BUT, as I ALWAYS tell you here - when you make something FOR YOURSELF - you have the ability to elevate it. Cause if we’re being honest, we’re all likely to have a drink here and there - so why not at least put some stuff in there that isn’t going to kill you?
Beth and I hung out at the bar at Pig & Prince in Montclair NJ while she showed me how to make this delicious bourbon drink! With rosemary as one of the main ingredients, it actually balances itself because of the antioxidant effects of the herb! Lemon juice is also detoxifying, boosts immunity, and reduces inflammation. And maple syrup does the same - making this a perfect winter cocktail! I’m not going to lie, I often pour a shot of bourbon into my tea when I’m sick too. But next time I might just try this! Salute!
