Basic Buttercream Frosting
Frosts 12 cupcakes
2 sticks of butter, softened to room temperature
1 c. confectioners sugar (plus more if needed)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
pinch of salt
Place the butter, vanilla and salt in a bowl and beat with a mixer until combined.
Sift in powdered sugar and beat again. The frosting will be soft and buttery with a mild taste. If you want a firmer, sweeter frosting add more sugar - the more sugar you add, the more "set" your frosting will get.
Scoop frosting into a zip baggie, cut off the corner and pipe onto cupcakes - Enjoy!
